Agent Value Proof Lab · Scale and measure

Prove the value after the demo.

Compare the old workflow with the live agent. Subtract review, exceptions, rework, upkeep, and run cost. Then show where the released capacity actually went.

About 8 minutes with measured data · no signup · exportable
01Hold the outcome still.

Define one accepted business result before comparing time or cost.

02Measure both periods.

Use matched cases, a holdout, or a clearly labeled estimate.

03Subtract the new work.

Count review, rework, exceptions, maintenance, and usage cost.

04Trace the capacity.

Separate cash, cost avoidance, throughput, and unclaimed time.

Write the claim before looking at the dashboard.

A useful measurement starts with one completed business outcome and a comparison method.

Accepted outcome first

Runtime, messages, logins, and completed tool calls are operating telemetry. They do not prove that the business result was accepted.

Research basis, calculation notes, and source limits

Microsoft Agent 365. Microsoft describes agent runtime as aggregate elapsed time across agent processing, including requests and tool calls. Runtime is useful operating telemetry; Aule does not treat it as financial return. Microsoft Learn, updated August 20, 2026.

Measurement method. Microsoft’s Center of Excellence guidance recommends baselining before rollout, using comparison groups where practical, combining telemetry with qualitative evidence, measuring outcomes and risk rather than agents shipped, and tracking where reclaimed time goes. Microsoft Learn, updated July 14, 2026.

Hidden workload. SolarWinds reported that 84% of 844 surveyed IT professionals said AI in ITSM met or exceeded ROI expectations, while 52% said workload increased and 83% spent at least three hours weekly keeping AI reliable. These are vendor-sponsored, self-reported findings, not audited ROI. SolarWinds, August 18, 2026.

Defined workflow example. OpenAI reports that Stampli modeled 243 active role-hours for a launch workflow and completed it in about 77 hours while retaining full human review. This is a vendor-published customer estimate, not an independent controlled study. OpenAI, August 20, 2026.

Calculation boundary. This lab normalizes observed totals per case, counts only accepted outcomes, subtracts human intervention and operating cost, amortizes implementation cost, and labels reassigned-time value as modeled capacity rather than cash savings. Evidence grades are an Aule operating convention, not a statistical confidence interval or audit opinion.
